Year

The final year at Fairway Primary Academy.

In Year 6 you will be taught by Mrs Gray alongside Mrs Combes.

A week in Year 6 will see a wide range of lessons aiming to provide children will valuable and transferrable life skills ready for the next stage in their educational journey. Our Humanities topics include: WW2 and Extreme Weathers. We explore a range of high-quality texts across the curriculum and seek to deepen and develop our maths and broad curriculum understanding.

A typical day starts with a recall task followed by reading. We then having our Maths lesson taught in sets to really help children develop their mathematical knowledge. After break we have English where we learn a variety of writing styles and focus on the grammar and punctuation expectations for Year 6. After lunch we focus on the broad curriculum including P.E., , humanities, P.S.H.E, R.E. etc. We work hard and always try our best!

Year 6 also gives children the chance to be head or deputy head pupils, and other roles and responsibilities.
